Secretary Women Development Punjab Umbereen Raza visited various Wheat Procurement Centers in District Narowal. During the visit, she said that the Prime Minister’s financial initiative for the poor under the Emergencies Program is a revolutionary step in alleviating the plight of the poor. The Punjab Government is protecting wheat grains and will buy every grain from the farmers. She emphasized that target of wheat procurement be ensured as soon as possible.
The Secretary Women Development emphasized that in order to prevent further spread, implementation of Government SOPs should be ensured in all cases. She visited the DHQ Hospital and stressed upon the staff that the tests should be completed immediately and patients be sent home as soon as possible after receiving negative reports.
Mst. Umbereen Raza also visited various markets to observe implementation of notified prices during Ramadan. She emphasized that during Ramadan, the people should be provided with basic necessities at reasonable prices and Special Price Magistrates must focus on arresting any unhealthy trend of profiteering and hoarding by unscrupulous elements particularly during the sacred month of Ramadan.
Deputy Commissioner Narowal briefed the Provincial Secretary Women Development in detail about the measures to be taken in the district in connection with wheat procurement, awareness center, coronavirus and stockpiling.
